The Information Security Officers Group (ISOG), the leading professional information security organization in the Philippines, celebrated its 10th anniversary by welcoming two new members—Maxicare Healthcare Corporation and Equicom Savings Bank. The formal induction occurred during a grand event at the Peak Music Lounge, Grand Hyatt Hotel, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, on July 10, 2024.

Representing Maxicare Healthcare Corporation, a healthcare industry leader, was IT Operations AVP Alen Roie Tatco. Meanwhile, Equicom Savings Bank, a key player in the financial services sector, were Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Rei Nikolai Magnaye and IT Risk Head Edgar Allan Barbaso.

“We’re honored to be part of ISOG’s mission to fortify the country’s information security landscape,” said Magnaye. “In an increasingly digital world, collaboration between various industries is essential to staying ahead of emerging threats. We look forward to contributing to this collective effort and learning from the best in the field.”

ISOG was founded in 2014 by nine CISOs from Philippine banking and financial institutions to enhance the country’s information security. Over the past decade, the organization has grown rapidly, attracting professionals from diverse sectors, including governance, risk management, compliance, and privacy.

The induction of Maxicare Healthcare Corporation and Equicom Savings Bank signals ISOG’s continued expansion beyond its original focus on finance and banking. Both companies are part of the Equicom Group, a diversified conglomerate with a strong presence in healthcare, information technology, and financial services.

The event drew over a hundred information security professionals from various sectors, reinforcing ISOG’s commitment to its core pillars: education and awareness, inter-institutional incident response, and intelligence-sharing. ISOG remains dedicated to empowering members to protect the information that powers our world and ensure a safer digital future.
